Default Why so much hatred for Sanchez?

I'm trying to figure this one out. I've seen a thread on here against Sanchez, I have heard other fans bash Sanchez, and my question is why? Sanchez did not have the greatest season last year but then again he was a ROOKIE and we did make it to the AFC Championship game. This year he did a good job of not having a sophomore slump, although he did progress as much as I thought he would. I mean at the end of the day with the close games we have pulled out this year, he was tossing the ball and in charge of the huddle. Then look at last week against the Colts, he made some key throws after that great return and that Edwards catch to go along with it. I say he will be a great QB in this league because of the team he has around him. The same can be said for Aaron Rodgers, Rothleisberger, Flacco, and the list goes on. I'm just saying let's stop bashing him and lets realize we have a QB on our hand and Schottenheimer will continue to do a good job in molding him into a great QB.

Some people's expectations are way too high. They were expecting Sanchez to play like he did this year back when he was a rookie. They didn't expect perfection, but were disappointed with him.

Now they say "He's not a rookie anymore!" as if that means he needs to be Drew Brees.

It takes a few years for a QB to develop in the NFL. Most casual bandwagon Jets fans want instant results now and that is just not possible. You're right, Sanchez has done very well this year.

Sanchez is an NFL starting quarterback because he really works at it. And he's getting better.

In contrast, who was that Raiders QB who should have been a solid starter -- but he didn't work at it? And now he's gone.

I've always liked Sanchez and found this year he has definitely improved over last. As you guys stated, ya gotta be paitent with a QB and let him figure it and and grow, we have and look where we are now, in the playoff's, second year in a row!

Besides, he's seems to have totally bought into the concept of being a JET and playing like a JET, I couldn't be more happier with him.

With that said, lets go eat a GD snack and win a SB,

All the "haters" I know were talking about how "lucky" Sanchez was last week. Driving down the field like it was nothing with 47 seconds left. So Peyton does it right before that because he is good, but sanchez is lucky? The only difference I saw is that Sanchez made the throws when it counted to win the game. If Manning makes that 3rd down throw, they could have run the clock down and won the game, but he didn't.

Sanchez just can't catch a break. More playoff wins than my boy Chad, more than Richard Todd, more than Kenny O'Brien, and yes, more than B'way Joe. Same goes for Rex. I think we all need to take this in. This is a special team we have right here. It may happen this year, maybe it won't but we're going in the right direction, and Sanchez is leading the way.

Default He needs to be Hated.

When money is placed on a player, the player's expected to play like a pro. There's a lot of hopes and dreams on Sanchez like Vinny Testaverde who was a big let down after coming out of college. The same is going on with Sanchez. I know if they use Jay Cutler, they'll have more of a winning chance. I'm the biggest Jets fan you'll ever know and let me tell ya it's luck keeping them afloat.

He is playing like a pro and is doing just fine. There is nothing to hate him for.

Hey everyone, new to the board. Long time Jets fan (living in Boston now, ugh!).

Regarding Sanchez, he is doing just fine. Clearly there is immense talent there, can't argue with that. Yes there are flaws in his game. Pretty big ones but nothing out of the ordinary for a QB in only his 2nd year as a pro.

The one thing that REALLY stands out in my opinion (and cannot be learned or taught) is this kid delivers when it matters most. In big games and big moments. That is the type of quarterback I want on my team. Screw the fantasy team stats and dumb "power rankings." When the game is on the line I want the QB to be a leader and relish the opportunity. To rise to the occasion and not unravel like a cheap sweater.

That is what all the truly great players do. Elway, Montana and yes, Brady. There are holes in Sanchez's game but he WILL continue to improve and in my opinion, he has the fiber to to be a champion.

Jay Cutler? Please...

..........I don't hate sanchez i actually like him. It's just annoying to hear 99% of the forum greatly overrate his abilities. He isn't bad but he is not a top 25 quarterback in the nfl by any stretch of the imagination.
