Default Rex Ryan won't apologize or punish Cromartie for calling Brady an "Ahole" and.......

Rex Ryan's reaction to Cromartie remarks

Quote:
Antonio Cromartie
“We see that a lot. He does it a lot. That’s the kind of guy he is. We really don’t give a S..., to tell you the truth. An —-. That’s what I think about him. I don’t really give a about him, I don’t have to play against him. I play against the receivers.......if I beat the s— out of his receivers, he can’t throw the ball. F... him"

US Presswire
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Jets head coach Rex Ryan held a conference call with New England reporters this morning, and the first question was what his reaction was to cornerback Antonio Cromartie's remarks about Tom Brady.

Ryan said he was unfamiliar with them, and asked media members to fill him in.

"First off, in this country, you're allowed to have opinions, and all that kind of stuff," he responded when told of the remarks. "Obviously, as an organization, we respect Tom Brady, there is no question about it. But hey, is there dislike between us and Brady, and Brady against the Jets? Of course there is.

"Am I going to punish Cromartie for saying something, or whatever? No. I know one thing, we respect New England, but we don't fear them. A comment like that, it's just the fact they're the enemy as we look at them this week."

Ryan was then asked if he felt those remarks crossed the line from fun trash talk to something else.

"Realistically, I'm sure that's basically what it was, just a comment that he made," Ryan said. "Trust me, they're saying a lot worse about me and others here, maybe it just wasn't printed."

A reporter then asked Ryan if he felt players followed his lead and that he incites such remarks. Ryan laughed.

"Yeah, of course," he said. "Maybe they do follow my lead in the fact that in that we can say what's on our mind or whatever. I don't say 'Whatever we do, don't say this, or don't say that.' We're a transparent organization. We let our guys speak and don't try to tell them what to say or what not to say."

Ryan was then asked if there was a risk in making such remarks, because it could make the Jets look bad if they don't win.

"We're going to be watching somebody else play, so it really doesn't matter. You either win or you don't. In this league, if you don't win, it's over. Your season's over," he said. "To think that a comment here or there is going to incite them to play at a greater level or something like that, I don't believe that's true. ... It doesn't matter what would come out of New England's locker room or anybody else's locker room, because you can't be more motivated than we are, and you can't be more motivated than New England is."

This tells me that the guys are all in as far as leaving it all on the field come Sunday.Cro will be playing his butt off to back up the smack.

After Garcon beat him in Indy and a lashing from Rex,Cro played lights out both on D and kick returning.Whatever was said to him seemed to flip the right switch.I hope this rubs off on all the guys, as we know it's gonna take max effort to beat these crumbs.

Ryan is right. What difference does it make. So Cromartie called Brady a name. Aside from its truthfulness, is Brady going to be thinking "I'll teach him a lesson." I hope it does, becuase that will throw him off his game. More likely, Brady, as all the other players on both teams are motivated by the same goal--winning the game and winning a Super Bowl.

I like the comments by Cromartie besides what they are because it tells me he and his teammates are really motivated to play their hearts out on Sunday.

I think it's ridiculous....Cro got beat a cpl of times last time he faced Brady...he didnt look too good Vs Indy....he should quiet down just like the rest of the team and just play ball. If you win, then run your mouth. Until then...shut up

He's putting the pressure on himself. Maybe it will motivate him to play better. We will see.

Completely agree with you---150%. Every week it's something new and brash being said by Rex or one of the players. Cromartie's comments are the worst yet this season. I have been a Jets fan for a long time, but I am starting to wince when they start talking. Please, please just bring the Lombardi home for us all, and be quiet till then!

i don't have a problem with cro's comments, because the pressure is square on him. brady won't throw at revis....he is gonna and dunk to all of his 4 foot 2 receivers and backs, and look toward cro's side for a long one or two probably. he will need to step up. ryan is the one that needs to quiet down sometimes.

Maybe Cromartie saying stuff like that to the press doesn't look good. You can be guaranteed that players, coaches AND FANS are saying or thinking along those lines. This is a rivalry that goes deep. You can see how much the players are looking forward to this one. We are underdogs in many peoples eyes, so if there is pressure, it is the pressure to prove people wrong.

Not a classy move to do what Cromartie did, but if it tells us anything, it's that the team is in a different mindset to the last time we played the Pats.

Can't wait until Sunday!!

Eh, all this talk about what Cromartie said, should he have, shouldnt he have, and I can't get past that picture of Brady. What sort of twinke toes pose is that. Even models have their dirty little secrets and I bet Giselle's is to strap on a big one and point at Brady every time he lets her score one in his end zone. That's probably where he learned to do it.
