So I started getting interested in the NFL two years ago, and after a while decided I needed a team. I didn't want to be a glory seeker, so decided that the next game that came on Sky (I'm in the UK) I would support the side that lost. That was the Steelers versus the Titans. So I became a Steelers fan and they went on to win the Superbowl. I was thus faced with a twin dilemma: 1) no body would believe the story about me trying NOT to be a glory seeker, and 2) the Steelers really irritated me. I mean really. The terrible towel thing is, basically, a bit rubbish.
So I decided to abandon the Steelers as a lost cause. They were cut without sorrow. I needed a new team. Working on roughly the same principles as before I decided something comfortably mid-table was the key. After draft day, the Jets, with a new coach and new QB just leapt off the page as being the best bet for a new fan. And the Jets didn't really irritate me at all. I even laughed when Braylon Edwards tried to catch a ball with the top of his helmet... One strange thing was, in my effort not to be seen as a glory seeker, I was probably the only Jets fan out there who breathed a small, secret, sigh of relief when they didn't win the Superbowl... |

my story is intresting, i've been a 49ers fan since 1993 and a Jets fan since 1998, some people look at me funny when I say I like both teams, but I live in LA, we have no team and the jets and 49ers play once every 4 years so there's no real conflict of interest for me.
in 1998 my dad got me a starter keyshawn replica jersey that was the year they switched back to the more vintage jerseys, i watched the jets 49ers game week 1 that year when garrison hearst had that 98 yard run in overtime to beat the jets. i was happy the niners won but i started watching jets games that year with my dad, i watched them beat the dolphins on sunday night football late that year to take over first place, i watched them clinch the afc east in a saturday game against the bills, and watched the win against the jaguars that year. i was in new york the week of the afc championship game against denver i went to an uncle of mines party for the game got all excited when they went up 10-0 in the 3rd quarter and remember watching it all go downhill from there, but ever since then i've been a Jets fan. Last year was probably the most fun i've had as a fan of either team though, I was in New York for all of January last year, I bought a ticket to the sunday night game against the Bengals a few nights before I flew to New York (prices went up quite a bit after they beat indy in week 16 to have a shot to get in the playoffs), I went to the game by myself in that cold weather but ended up tailgating with a bunch of Jets fans who were real cool and friendly to me, the people in the section i sat in at the game were awsome, and the whole atmosphere after the game was over was amazing, it was easily the most fun i've had at any sporting even i've ever gone to. |

Hello fans, I just was recently activated.
I'm french and I live in South of France. I'm Jets fan since mid 80's. My school sports teacher talking us about American Football when I was 16. He talked about the stadium amazing crowd and he talked about this people with an helmet playing this amazing game. After that I had searched magazine about this game. I like NY too, so naturally I have searched NY team. And I have seen Mister Joe Namath on a picture. We had only one macth on TV each week on mid 80's in France. For lot of yours, this game is natural. As far behind you have football on your roots. For me, here in France, it's not the same. This an exotic game in France but it's the best game I've played (a little) and I've seen. I really enjoy this game and I really enjoy JETS each week with www network broadcast. And I know something for sure that I'm most fanatic JETS fan in south of France and this for a long time.

My mother bought me a NY Jets jacket(green with white leather like sleeves) for Christmas when I was a kid(early 70s), then I seen Joe Namath on the Brady Bunch(early 70s) and pulled for them since.

I became a Jets fan from day one. <y family lives in Jersey and PA. They are pretty much split down the middle. Either Steelers or Jets. No other questions about it. I myself loved watching the Jets play even when they were winning a few a year. To me, its always been about the Jets and I will always go for them. I love being the underdog and we are right back where we should be. Expected to lose but determined to win!!!!
