Default Message to Mark Sanchez #2

Mark,

Two great games. You have chosen to seize the day.

This Sunday is the light at the end of the tunnel. Make no mistake, the Bills will come out with everything they have. They need a victory, and they want one from us more than anything. They need to prove they can beat the best.

It wont be easy and it will be all on you again. However, know this, if you survive this last challenge you will have earned the full respect of every Jets fan including myself. The term Sanchise will no longer be solely for the media...It will have meaning.

It will mean that there is more than one great quarterback in the northeast. It will mean that the road to the super bowl just became a solid reality!

Good Luck!

A Loyal Jets Fan

It is time to take this game seriously. Our Super Bowl dream lives or dies by what you alone do on the field. You need to control the field. Do not take risks, have faith in your receivers to run their routes and get open. Do not force a pass into impossible coverage. See the field, the entire field. If you fail to make a play, dust yourself off and make one on the next set. This is the formula for success.

However, if you are incapable of using the weapons Rex has built for you against a decimated Ravens secondary I only ask that you please vacate to backup QB and let us have a chance at a successful season with either Clemens or Brunel. It is the unselfish thing to do and besides perhaps a clipboard for a season will show you the growth you need.

Thanks,

A life long fan!

He is our weakest link yet the most important piece of the chain. He has now been tested and enough is enough he will not bring us to a super bowl. In fact with the schedule we have this season I do not see how we are to even make the playoffs with him at the helm.

We say this is super bowl or bust time, with Sanchez at the helm its a bust.

The only people that can defend him at this point are Patriot fans who want us to lose game 2. I say its time to invest in Clemens and see where it takes us.

Sanchez is not confident.
Sanchez has limited field vision.
Sanchez is not very tall and can not see over the offensive line.
Sanchez is not a capable passer.
Sanchez is not a leader.
Sanchez is not a physical QB.
Sanchez is a 22 year old kid with a leg brace.

yes, I read that Brunell has helped Sanchez with his time management. Now he has time to read the forum in earnest. We Moderators can see where they go on the forum, and he's been to your page several times.

All this means is that you're backtracking like crazy. You went from statements like, "He's not confident", "He's not capable" & "Our SB dreams will be a bust with Sanchez" to "Our road to the SB has become a solid reality"

Plus, you hedge everything you say. You talk about our road to the SB is reality, then say that he will only have your loyalty if he plays well on Sunday. So I'm guessing, if he doesn't have a good game Sunday, you'll be back on the "Bench Sanchez" bandwagon.

A win is a win is a win,,, great. It's a long season and so far we look like real contenders. I for one will not lose all hope with a bad game or talk superbowl after a win, I think these players read the forum; why not.The Motto one game at a time and we will surprise everyone that wrote us off or said we were all hype. Right now I would say without a doubt we are the most hated team in the league and I love it; So all JET fans stick together and embrace our team and not be so quick to pull the trigger either way.

Actually, if he continued playing like he did at game 1, it would be over. Sanchez has seemed to put his butt in gear. Which is clear from my messaging. As to the player reading the news and forums, we all know they do (well all of us who watched hard knocks).

Many of you younger guys want to pretend you know this team. Point is no one does and that's Jets football...no matter how good or bad we get over the years nothing is over until its over. Thats why guys like Joe Nammath were saying the same thing as me after Game 1 this season. My message was and is still clear to Mark. This third game is all about him. He can choose to become a great player or fail miserably and be forgotten except in anecdotes.

Decent quarterbacks come and go through this organization. Guys like Ken Obrien who could throw consistently for over 350 yards but couldnt figure out how to solve the simple things like consistently releasing the ball quickly.

Anyhow, I think its a real problem now-a-days with not just the fan base, but with people in general. They do not challenge their teams, their leaders, and or their politicians. They just say "the guy" is great because of faith. Perhaps its because they have not been around long enough to see that faith shattered over and over again. Perhaps they do not understand where the expression "Same Old Jets" comes from.

I hope Mark proves to be a top quarterback. Right now hes turned things around, and I hope he can continue. However, I will not be delusional and follow everyone off the bridge! Guys need to prove things to me first, especially in this city and especially in this team!

Bottom line is you don't crown the Jets champions before they play a championship game. Not as a fan, not if you been a fan throughout the years. This organization needs to earn it at every level.

Green Titan you will learn this with age.

Wow. I'm not even sure where to begin. As for being a "Younger" fan, I've been a Jet fan for forty years, so please don't talk to me about "The problems now a days"

Please show me where I said that sanchez was "Great". There's a big difference between challenging your team and it's leaders and just kicking them in the head until you feel they've "Earned your loyalty".

How is it dellusional to support your team's QB, especially when he's played well enough to deserve the support? And yes he's played well enough.

Sancez's line the last 7 reg/postseason games (Excluding Indy)
95/163 58%, 1152 yds 165YPG 10 TDs 1 INT

Excatly how much more will it take before you grace him with your loyalty & respect?

I believe we will be 7 - 9 this season with sanchez. The reason is we have a much harder schedule this year...here are my game predictions:

Ravens - Loss, Already Happened
Patriots - Loss, we can't go head to head with brady in a shoot out.
Miami - Loss, we lost last year so honestly why not again...Miami is upgraded this year.
Quote:
Same Old Jets, still finding new and inventive ways to lose games. I know I will get hate over this post....

I am surprised how many fans drink the koolaid these days, so easy it is to forget how cursed we are. One of my family members called me the other day after the Jets lost to the Ravens, he actually said I should consider raising my kids on a different franchise and give them more enjoyment than the Jets have given either of us throughout the years.

Watching a game as a Jets fan is not about rooting for the team, its about predicting when they blow it.
Quote:
I am dubbing Mark Sanchez the K-Mart Quarterback. Seriously hes like a quarterback with no upside that we got on blue light special.
Quote:
Can anyone else imagine if we had a real QB like Ken O'Brien under center with the talent on our current team
Quote:
Sanchez is a major issue guys. He may be great one day, but right nwo he is pretty awful and we are trying to get to the super bowl, not win a few games and take it in strides like the Rams. Our defense and running game got us 9-7 last year. Sanchez not only did not contribute to the wins in our record, but he alone almost blew our wildcard pickup. With our current talent on offense we need a consistantly decent QB and right now everything I see from Sanchez seems counter to that. Maybe I will be proven wrong, but right now I think its safe to say we have real risk. Not to mention Brunel is pathetic and washed up. I am almost wondering if we shouldnt trade clemens, he sucks, but hes more conistant than Mark.
Quoted for posterity and comic relief.
