Default QB Matt Leinart released by Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have released quarterback Matt Leinart. Coach Ken Whisenhunt informed the former USC standout Saturday of the team's decision.

Leinart was the 10th overall pick for the Cardinals in the 2006 draft. He lost out to Derek Anderson for the team's starting quarterback job this preseason.

Don't think he will find a starting position anywhere soon either.

I agree. It goes beyond his problems on the field from what I have been hearing. The team didn't really like him.

If Pete Carroll doesn't sign him, nobody will.

Didn't want to get in that deep, but deal.

We need to sign Leinart to replace O'Connel to back up Clemens to back up Brunell to back up Sanchez in case Sanchez gets hurt and Brunell goes down before Clemens gets injured and has to come off.

Leinart signed a 1 year deal with the Houston Texans.
Will be the 3rd QB, behind Schaub and Orlovsky.

In any case, hes still a bum.
