Default Are Colts fans worried?

After looking at a few stats I think they might be. First off in total offense they are 9th and the chargers were 10th, a team we defensively shut down for the most part. Defensively in total defense the colts are ranked 18th while the chargers are ranked 16th. So to me the colts and chargers are similar teams and with the result last week I am feeling pretty good. We will soon see on sunday. what does everyone else think?

the "pundits" are employing a similar perspective on why the colts
will beat the jets, basing their claims on the jets/ravens similarities.
as the ravens/colts game started i got the feeling that one of each
style will make it to the afc championship: one high-power offense,
one immovable defense. now, we're at the precipice of the perfect
storm. via process of elimination, the conference's best O against
the conference's best D. nicholson once said, "something's gotta
give..." like i said before the sd game, "i don't expect to win, but i
wouldn't be surprised if we did." stats only tell a fraction of the
tale and first ballot, HoF QBs can't be factored in with all the other
numbers in so elementary a manner, unfortunately...

Don't forget the last two weeks of the season skewed that stats a little for the Colts. When it is all said and done, the most important defensive stat is "Points Allowed" The Colts were top three in that category for most of the season till the JV took over.

agreed, especially the bills game. the key for us is limiting mannings options. if rhodes can handle clark, that would be huge.

Yeah but it must be a little nerve wrecking that the colts supposedly let the jets in the playoffs and now they are playing for a chance to go to the super bowl. Now I dont agree with the whole letting the jets win thing that all the analysts were spinning it was still a close game with the starters in but we will see on sunday.

I don't think anybody is worried specifically because of the events that took place in week 16. I think they are actually comforted by it. Yes, the Colts were winning by a small margin when the starters came out. The problem is that many of the regular starters didnt even play one down in the game. Seven to be exact. Those starters included, Pierre Garcon, Robert mathis, Melvin Bullit, Clint Session, Jerraud Powers, Charlie Johnson.
So I think the feeling here is, if the Colts were winning without those guys, how good will they look with them playing with them. Also add in the fact that Manning Wayne and Clark stay in for 60 min.

I'm not trying to talk trash here, but the vibe in Indy is truly one of relief that we don't have to play the team that knocked us out the last two times, the Chargers. Every person I have talked to is happy to be playing the jets, not unnerved.

Great Post. I would only add that Freeney played only 10 downs in that game--in two of those downs, he sacked Sanchez

No. I respect the Jets, but definitely not nervous.

Sensible and genuine posts there from you Colts guys, and as has been said, you have every right not to be nervous coming into this game seeing as you have beaten teams during that season that we have lost to.
What I will say is that the Jets are gathering momentum, and improving everyday. Our gameplan is now set (i believe earlier in the year it was not fully settled) and we are executing better than ever.
The Jets are coming good at the right time and not many teams like playing a team gathering a head of steam.

I, for one, should be more nervous about this game, than any other game this season. If we can pull it off, we go to the promised land. The freakin Super Bowl. When was the last time we were at one of those? 40 years ago? But I am not worried. I feel confident. And for the first time all season, if we were to lose, I would not feel the wretched disappointment I have after some tough losses we have had. We are in the AFC championship and the future is bright. Of course I wnt to beat the Colts and go, but if we don't, I can honestly say there is always next year, and I can mean it this time. Good luck to you Colts guys on Sunday, and good luck to my Jets.
