Default NYC bar guide, help a Jet fan from Baltimore

Off the cuff comment. I am driving up from Baltimore tomorrow staying in the Sheraton right by the stadium. I want to go out and have some fun, (bar, but not too fancy, beer guy here) and ideas?

No crazy clubs, not into that stuff, relaxing sit down, and get to pounding some brew place, I will take the wife out for dinner before that.

That reminds me, and good dinner recommendations... We are both on teacher salaries, that MD salary scale too.

Not sure about the Sheraton, but the Renaisance, also by the stadium, has a pretty good steak house, and small bar. Go west on route 3, and onto route 46, there are a bunch of standard fare places, like Chilis and the like. Holiday Inn in Wayne on rt 46, has a pretty good sports type bar, but I forgot what is' called. You can always go into Manhattan but be ready to spend $$$.

Started out fast with a few days off from work. Only a couple times a week now.

I like to travel to games too, so I like helping those coming up to the Meadowlands. Hope to see you game day.
