Default What's your opinion on the Trayvon Martin incident?

Reading up on it the law in Florida seems pretty flawed. I don't know about you but if someone's dead and the victim only has some skittles and iced tea on him and you say you killed him for self defense I'm bringing you in anyway.

End of the day, it's tragic. I am not clear on all the reports tho.

I currently live in florida, depending where you are some people still complain about the south losing the war. it is what it is. they don't speak for the whole state but theres quite a few of them. T. Martin is a tragic situation, zimmerman should've been arrested on the spot.

The only facts that we have are that logic and reason have been thrown out the window because both sides are operating on emotion and the news is not reporting all the facts because they don't know them.

No matter what we think about Al Sharpton, the real issue is that someone like him is still needed today. Kilkenny's post says it best; you have people throwing out logic and reason and an absence of the facts; and that is why Rev Al needs to be there so that this fact doesn't get lost and buried on a national level because as the poster from Florida alluded to, there are still very...different percepectives in southern state.

I can assure you that Al Sharpton will bring nothing to the table except more ignorant, foaming at the mouth race-baiting.

And what would happen if he wasn't there--exactly what you described on a state level from the opposite direction and it would probably no longer be on the national radar. If you are going to critize him then you should equally critize what is going on in Florida.

Again if you look at things objectively then you can see why I wrote the real issue is that someone like Al Sharpton is still needed this day and age.

What can Al offer that will be beneficial and non-biased?
