Default The Official Ban the SOJ mentality thread.

I say that posts with the SOJ vibe should be banished to another part of the forum. lol.

Seriously ... we need to put that mindset in the past. I am not saying we cannot be critical or anything, but this idea of the "cloud of doom" has to go.

I say it starts here. Complain about coaching, playing, ticket prices ... but lets get rid of this stigma once and for all !!

What do you guys say ??

I applaud your fervor and commend your spirit and determination. I, for one, pledge to never utter words in the SOJ mindset, nor shall I write or type similar tinged drivel.

I love any sentence incorporating the use of the word "drivel"

Default Soj

It's not up to the fans, or the media to change the SOJ mentality. The Jets have to do that themselves. The players, coaches and front office are the ONLY ones who can do it. In my mind the Jets are and always will be MY TEAM, but when they play games like last Sunday, the cries of Same Old Jets will resound loudly. Until the players play consistently at a high level, they will NEVER be considered an elite NFL franchise. Look what the Giants went through just this week, then went out and crushed the Redskins in Washington. When Jets are mentioned as equals to the Giants the SOJ mentality will live on.

I mirror your sentiment. Whether they are 16-0 or 0-16, the Jets are the one, and only, football team for which I--weekly--express my support in a vociferous, spirited manner. I would sooner martyr myself than to root (or is cheer the better choice in how this sentence parses?) for an inferior team such as the Dolphins with their deplorable uniform color scheme, or the despicable Patriots of New England parentage.

Cool Soj

In 49 seasons the Jets are 181-181-5 at home. Since they ended the 1969 season they are 140-156-1 at home. It is the "Same Ol' Jets" until they aren't the "Same Ol' Jets"...this has been going on for years in spite of coaching and player changes. It's not the fans, it's not the owners, it's not the coaches, it's just the way it is.
