Default Tanking

There's a lot of talk about the Jets tanking for a QB....do you think they're tanking the season?

I don't see them tanking.
They cut alot of overpaid, underperforming vets , cleared up a ton of cap room for the next couple of off seasons.
If you look realistically at who was released , and their production last year, there isn't likely to be much of a drop-off in production. Marshall underwhelmed, Decker missed most of the year, Mangold missed significant time and had been declining , Harris has been in a steady decline and became more of a liability in coverage. Revis should have been benched by mid season. The only effort came from the young players.
I expect to see a lot more effort this season than last year, no distractions from the likes of Marshall, Decker and Mangold , campaigning for Fitzpatrick. They divided the locker room starting in OTAs. Not showing up in support of Fitz.
There has been almost a complete turnover in coaching staff and by all reports, camp has been intense. The players are close , O and D ,one team and most importantly, leaders are emerging. Something that was severely lacking last year.
This is a long over due start of a competitive rebuild. The players and coaches will give ever effort to win. It will take time but going through the adversity together should Galvanize the core of this team and hopefully it pays off in 2 - 3 seasons.

Im about supporting all the young members of our roster, if we struggle or lose in the process and end up with a high draft pick in return, it better be a good one.....

I wouldn't go so far as to say that the roster sucks. I'm more inclined to call it undeveloped or unproven. We don't know yet how well this young group will perform and I for one want to remain optimistic and not count them out before they've had their opportunity to meld into a team and gain experience. If they give 100% for every game they play they will have satisfied my biggest concern, because as Tony said, those guys we cut were truly underperforming. There's no room on this team for guys that won't give the effort required or don't play with heart and put the team first. There's also no room for those that can't stay out of trouble. So, like Kiwijet, I'm going to support this young team until they do something that warrants me withdrawing that support regardless of whether or not we get a #1 draft pick, which I admit would be nice, but I'll worry about draft picks when the 2018 draft gets here.
