Default What do we want to see in our first preseason?

I'm excited to see the Jets play this Saturday! Marcus Maye and Jamal Adams having great camps looking to see their communication on the field! Also, I think they should sit Mccown because he's a veteran and we know he'll be ready for the season. Hackenberg is who we need to evaluate with the chemistry with the young WRs! Offensively we going to struggle alot so be prepared for some conservative play calling. For the first time I'm excited for the new young movement. Hopefully Woody Johnson would stick to the plan.

Want to see:
1) sound game plan
2) smart play calling, keep opposing team D honest, stay unpredictable
3) lots of opposing QB pressure and sacks
4) crisp route running
5) limited dropped passes
6) no missed tackles
7) limited penalties
8) no injuries
9) respectable score win lose or draw
10) adjustments made in timely manner
11) improved clock management, win the time of possession battle
12) huge improvements with our special teams
13) defense more take aways, offense less turn overs
14) 3rd and 4th down conversions high percentage...minimal 3 & outs
15) high level of team chemistry

...not asking for much.

So, one good drive and a long field goal attempt. UnKnown looked sharp, Hackensack looked OK, couldn't judge Petty when he was surrounded by scrubs. None of the running backs impressed as potential third string behind Powell and Forte. O line was better than expected, not much chance for the young safeties to shine.

Not sure why Bowles was trying to conservatively protect the 'win', this is the pre-season and we want to see guys trying to make plays.

I think the plan with Hack was to bring him along slowly and limit his mistakes. His footwork and accuracy look much improved.
He made some good reads , protected the ball. He didn't have much time to throw but he stepped up in the pocket when necessary. He was not overwhelming by any means but he has grown. I think they will slowly expand the playbook and give him more work with the ones.
One thing I am surprised people are not bringing up is Lachlan Edwards. He has to be replaced ASAP !!!

Just letting you guys know that I am here. I just haven't had much to say because I don't get to see these preseason games because they broadcast them on a channel that I don't get. I do appreciate the rundown on the games when you post them though.
