He also says backup centre is an issue, but as important Mangold is, if Brick were to go down we'd be in deep trouble.
-outside linebacker:
Marcus Dowtin, Demario Davis, Ricky Sapp, Aaron Maybin, Garrett McIntyre to go along with Bryan Thomas & Calvin Pace... I kinda think our outside linebacker position is solid...

With Dowtin & Davis they have ability to play inside as well...

-safety:
I agree to a point... Veteran Leadership from all 3 - Yeremiah Bell, LaRon Landry, & Eric Smith will prove to be the key this year... Coverage safety can be anyone of these: Landry, Bush, T. Wilson as well as Kyle Wilson is a possibility... Just the roster breakdown is a concern right now...

-tackle:
As much as everyone keeps worrying about Wayne Hunter they have to remember his style of football is better fit for run first offense, but Tony Sparano did bring in solid competition for that right tackle position... Depth is more a concern for the future, replacing Brandon Moore and/or Matt Slauson for years after... Wait n see approach is all we can do right now...

-cornerback:
We have knowledge that our starting three are Revis, Cromartie & K. Wilson... After that its all up in the air is what he means... Lankster, and Trufant are NOT guaranteed roster spots... Donnie Fletcher, Julian Posey, Ryan Steed and Royce Adams all have a shot to making this team... Don't know how many Corners to Safeties we will keep so minus our starting Defensive Backs roster spots are limited...

If the above two make a top 5 list then maybe we should be considered super bowl favorites.

It's really difficult put a list like this together in June without getting more of a look at the new guys. But then again, Cimini was at the OTAs.
Sport writers and commentators are exactly that, writers and commentators. Most of them write for ratings. Other than the fact that they have more access to information, what they write is their opinion. Sure they quote their subject but if you had the all the information, you'd see that they edit to fit their concept. You'll find very few that are unbias.
They could be right but they could be wrong.
