Everyone knows that hamstrings only developed in the 1980s. This is partially due to advances in medical detection but mainly due as anyone can see from the tape that players prior to this weren't running that fast.

Isn't humidity a contributing factor. I've never been to NY so I don't know if humidity is an issue. Seems to me, I could be wrong, but through the years of watch both college and pro football, hamstring injuries occur more often in hot humid conditions. I know working is humid conditions, especially if your don't get enough electrolytes, your muscles can cramp or tighten up.
