Yep, it's like when a family member of your's is single and dating. They'll bring someone around to meet the family at some point. If the relationship gets serious, you'll probably get to know the person and they might even end up being a member of the family.
On the other hand, if the relationship falls apart, you might not ever see them again. Time will tell with regards to us new fans

I guess every team has it's "die hards" (team tatoos on their arms), "fair weather" (only with their team doing well), "groupies" (follows certain players), and "football fanatics" (not for any paticular team, just love NFL Football).

I grow up in Philly. I was a Eagles fan for over 30 years.
I was not pleased when the Eagles sent Dawkins to the Broncos. Not happy with the Vick signing. Therefore, I started reading the Broncos message boards. Then Tebow was drafted to the Broncos. Full disclosure my son will soon be a UF Grad from the College of Engineering. This is how I become a Jets supporter. Quick question- What does a fan do when one of their fav players goes is to another team? Do you not follow them? Act as they where never a Jets player? |

I became a Jets fan when my family moved to New Jersey in the fall of 1981. I was 8 years old and had a choice to make: Giants or Jets. Everyone else on my street, it seemed, was a Jints fan, and I was determined not to follow the herd. It also didn't hurt that "we" were definitely the better team at the time. It seemed like a great choice: two trips to the playoffs in two years, including the AFC Championship Game.
Well, 31 years later, despite having lived in Mass., Florida, and now Louisiana, I still root for the Jets (and Mets)and still hope for the Super Bowl I was sure was at most a year or two away way back when. |
