Were any of you hoping that Herm would do bad when he left the Jets for the Chiefs. I was! But now I'm not sure that it feels all that good. I never thought that Herm was a great coach, but he did have great enthusiasm for the game, and after three seasons of the lifeless Penguin, that's at least one Herm characteristic that sticks out as one I missed, but just one. But at the end of the day, he was a Jet, and I have to respect him for that. So what's in the cards for him. With Pioli from New England now heading up the GM position at Kansas, is Herm out of job? Mums the word for now because no ones saying, and well, he's still there as of 9pm tonight. Herm finished 2-23 out of the last 25 games. What do you think?

Herm with a healthy QB, both with Jets and KC and who knows.
He was doomed from the start.
I feel bad for him.
He loves football, it just hasn't loved him back lately.

I remember during the season, someone asked him if he would consider coaching a college team. He replied, "I am coaching a college team."

I think Herm is an excellent HC, but you can't get blood from a stone.

For those of you who missed Herm Edwards since he left the Jets (what is wrong with you people), you're going to be seeing a lot more of him in 2009. ESPN has announced that Edwards has been hired as an analyst for such shows as NFL Live, Sports Center, ESPN News and a new show called You Play To Win The Game (not true). Somehow I'm left wishing he'd done a better job at Kansas.

What's wrong with us people?
I think Herm could have been a good head coach, he just had bad luck.
I'll say this. His teams never looked like they didn't care, that's for sure.

I don't know. He inherited a good NYJ team, won a couple playoff games, but had no answer when these guys got older. Great guy, very motivational, but not a a great head coach.

And, he had no answers at the press conferences...like a certain coach that recently got released.
Unfortunately, it was like seeing 2 different people - one that was fired-up before the game, the other with his head down during a loss.
However, he is now an ESPN analyst - hopefully we will enjoy his commentary! - "This team must play to win the game!"

Million dollar motivation, 10 cent football head?

"You watch...to analyze...the game! Hello?
You don't watch to just watch it. That's the great thing about sports."
